Hi everyone! My name is Yanzhuo Wang (Zane). In 2006, I graduated from an international school in China, and my parents encouraged me to go abroad to explore myself. Hence, here I am in beautiful Cranbrook BC.  In fact, it is my third year in Canada. The first year in school I took the ELP program which is a language program for international students, and I was inspired by those ELP teachers to always pass love and encouragement to students. In 2017, I became an ELP tutor to help more international students. More importantly, I finally decided to be a teacher in the future to do the same thing as my teachers did for me.  Now, I am a third-year student from the University of Victoria Teacher Education Program (East Kootenay Campus). Although there are many differences between Western and Asian educational styles, children are just children; they all need encouragement and love from adults.  As a student aspiring to gain a teaching profession, I am interested in gaining positive experiences with children and to develop a better understanding of how a nurturing, fun and safe environment can have a positive impact on children’s learning. One of my goals is to get to know every child individually and to learn about their interests, strengths and needs.
